Halda's design principles, values, mission and it's most vital assets from the component library.
A Design System is pointless if engineers can't or won't use it.
From my experience its effectiveness hinges on its adoption by the engineering team. To ensure widespread use, it's crucial to secure stakeholder buy-in and involve developers in the system's creation and maintenance.
At Halda we move fast and ship weekly, like many startups operating from a investment burn rate we cannot afford the time to create a comprehensive design system. The best alternative is to adpot a pre-built third party design system, which is what I did.
The quickest way to ensure consistency and quality is to quickly rebrand components from the popular Tailwind and Untitled UI design systems. Tailwind helped greatly with junior developers using out of the box components with only a few styling changes.
